Hello good people!
My big news is that I’ve received an Honorable Mention in the 2012 Telluride Troubadour Contest! It may just an Honorable Mention to you, but to me, it’s HUGE. As Caleb Hawley wrote when he was a finalist last year, “It’s a nationally recognized songwriter competition for people who aren’t famous. Contestants are judged on the quality of the song’s composition, vocal delivery, and the overall performance. Some of the past winners you may have heard of include Catie Curtis, Deb Talan of “The Weepies”, Cosy Sheridan, Kris Delmhorst, Mitch Barrett, Robby Hecht and Brian Joseph. Pretty sweet, eh?” Yeah, pretty sweet. I’ve been entering this contest for years and lots and lots of winners start out as Honorable Mentions. It means that Telluride knows I exist; they’ve put my name on their website and they have linked to my website! I’m pretty happy. Playing at this years’ festival will be John Prine, Alison Krauss, John Fogerty, Bela Fleck, Bruce Hornsby. I ain’t there yet, but it’s a start! Mary Is On The Taylor Guitar Website!
The fine folks from Taylor Guitars interviewed me when we were all in Memphis this last February at Folk Alliance. They asked me how I came to play Taylor Guitars over all of the other choices out there. I played another one of my new songs. It was great fun! If you have time to kill you can watch the video here: Taylor Guitars
Free New Song – ‘Blue Dress’
I want to share a demo recording of new song with you. I’m kind of excited about it, which is why I want to share it with you before it’s fully produced. Let me know what you think! (To receive the song, please sign up at my website, on the Home page).
Missouri in July
I’ll be doing some house concerts in Kansas City and St. Louis, MO in July. I still have a few open dates; so if you know anyone who might like to host me in Missouri, please have them email me at mary@marymcadams.com

What is a Street Team?
A street team is a group of fans brought together by a desire to help promote an artist or band. Street team members help the artist by bringing their friends to shows, convincing others to buy the artist’s music and merchandise, contacting radio stations and requesting the artist’s music, putting up posters, sending emails and online bulletins and announcements, posting to online message boards, creating graphics and website devoted to the artist and more.
What is the Benefit To the Teamer?
Free CDs and downloads, T-shirts, concert tickets and perhaps even a house concert!
Email streetteam@marymcadams.com if you’d like to sign up or would like a little bit more information. There will be a page up on the website devoted to the Street Team.
That’s all for now. Thanks for reading and thank you for your continued support!
